Production Manager

We are a fast growing mobile robotics start-up based in Odense, Denmark. We are looking for a production manager that will be responsible of setting up our production facilities, to join our team. Your team will be small initially, but will grow significantly over the next year. 

We are first movers with bringing fleets of mobile robots into the retail industry, to automate the transportation of goods. We have large customers and we need to set everything up, in preparation for the production of large amounts of mobile robots.  

We are a very international team, consisting of robotics veterans and people with diverse academic/professional backgrounds.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assumes ownership of production process, including meeting deadlines and quality specifications. 
  • Organises and manages the build of complex mobile robots and material handling systems, including development and checking of project schedules, production drawings, and bills of material. 
  • General production micro tasks lists and assignments based on project requirements and project scheduling deadlines. 
  • Leads Bi-weekly production meetings and provides bi-weekly updates to senior management on production tasks and resource allocation. 
  • Organises shop, including documentation locations, and maintains/improves production workflows. 
  • Oversees all in house fabrication activities. 
  • Oversees shipping and receiving process. 
  • Performs quality audits on mobile robot units. 
  • Ensures adequate testing processes. 

Minimum Education & Experience Required

  • Associate Degree in controls, electronics, engineering, or related field from an accredited university or school. 
  • 5 years of experience in machine building/design. 
  • 5 years of production experience in automation. 
  • 3 years of management experience in production environments. 
  • Very strong computer skills, particularly with the MS Office suite. 
  • Knowledge of safety standards for a manufacturing environment. 
  • Substantial knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes such as machining, grinding, welding, hand assembly, fasteners, etc. 

Extra Skills

  • Solidworks or comparable CAD experience. 
  • Experience with project management methods, practices and tools including scoping, facilitations, delegation, and risk management best practices. 
  • A strong machine design background. 
  • Experience with the application of motion components, electric actuators, and performing force loading calculations. 
  • Experience with automation or manufacturing related design. 
  • Knowledge of automation and manufacturing processes and designs. 
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams to handle multiple priorities and meet scheduled milestones. 
  • Ability to accurately estimate the level of effort required to complete a project build on time and within budget. 
  • Possesses a desire and capability to coach and mentor direct reports, interns, and other project partners. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create drawing packages, electronic bills of materials and engineering change orders. 
  • Design consideration towards wire harnessing
